Answer: When you see yourself as a failure!
It’s very common to be daunted by the thought of having a super successful business. This usually happens when you can’t see how you are going to achieve that level of success and/or you simply don’t believe that you can do it.
Do you find yourself falling into those traps?
Think of the growth you want to achieve in the next 12 months. Honestly, how achievable do you think that is? Do you 100% believe you have what it takes to do it?
If there was any hesitation in your answers and/or you answered with less than a “Yes it’s 100% achievable” then you have an issue.
Are your negative beliefs holding you back?
It’s basic psychology that if you have any doubts about your ability to do something then you will be faced with an uphill struggle to achieve it.
In your quest for a bigger business it’s easy to overlook that you might be harbouring some negative beliefs that will hamper your progress.
Is your desire for growth actually masking any sense of failure you have for not growing enough in the past?
Even my most super successful clients, who have achieved amazing growth, still sometimes feel like they are failing.
So why does this happen? It’s because of the focus on the future and the targets you are trying to achieve on a weekly, monthly or yearly basis. As you know you have to work hard to hit them, and every now and then you might miss one, it’s very easy to feel like you are failing. Especially if you have a streak of bad luck.
So what should you do about it?
If you are struggling to consistently grow your business, month in month out, then you need to have a good think about what could be causing it.
There is a very good chance that if you are feeling negative about your growth you aren’t very client attractive and that will be impacting on your bank balance.
When it comes to growing your business we all have things we wish we could have done differently but if this is turning into an “I’m going to keep beating myself up for it” campaign then it really needs to stop.
It could be that a bad result when you’ve been marketing your business is now holding you back from trying it again, or maybe some negative client feedback.
Business is an evolution. Allow it to evolve. That only happens by trying things and adapting. Just like Darwin said “It’s survival of the fittest” and that comes down to those who can adapt the most quickly. When you keep reflecting back on a bad experience it keeps you from adapting and evolving.
So stop beating yourself up for things that haven’t gone well. It’s now time to put those demons to bed, rejoice in all your great results, embrace your goals and take positive inspired action.
